It’s not been a spectacular summer weatherwise, has it? Then again, at least it hasn’t snowed. Well, not outside anyway.
In Tamworth, however, it snows every day at the Snowdome.
I’ve just got back from there after a spectacular tobogganing session this evening.
Courtesy of some rather nifty controls, the toboggans were steerable and brakeable (but where’s the fun in that?) down the length of the real proper cold snowified slope … hopefully slowing to a graceful stop at the bottom.
A bargain at just £8 for the half hour session - especially since we only shared it with 10 others instead of the usual 120 session capacity!
Looks like a lot of the country is getting some snow at the moment. None here in Surrey at the moment, but I’m on the lookout.
Me, and the triumphant return of SnowCam that is!
A few photos from my phone as I made a dash for my car in the blizzard yesterday evening:

Will SnowCam be making a reappearance soon??
Today on Radio 4 are holding a winter photography competition in honour of the forecast of a snowy weekend. Inspired by that and the various wintery-blog posts appearing around the web, I’m getting excited …
No snow here yet though. One of the fountains at uni leaked overnight creating a sheet of ice all over the AP concourse this morning - does that count? It looked all bright and shiny and pretty anyway.
We had the largest snow fall so far this year overnight, leaving the roads very icy this morning. I tried driving out around 7:15 but turned back almost straight away after sliding about all over the road and following the other traffic driving at under 10mph. Here’s some photos I took this morning:

Proper snow! Laying on the ground! Not just a few flakes drifting about!
